I picked up a slice of the tollhouse cake to go. It's delicious and half price on Mondays. But I think the slices are now smaller and the price is higher. I paid $5 for the slice. I wouldn't pay $10 for that slice. It's still delicious and moist though.

Warning: cake review only! My partner and I were on the search for some cake for a friend's birthday, a friend who had been stranded at our place since Hurricane Beryl hit. We had just had some delicious ice cream at Jeni's, and remembered that another friend had raved about the cakes here. The place seemed wonderfully casual, and immediately jumped into our minds as a place we would absolutely need to return to for brunch. The staff were really friendly as we perused the giant cake displays. The Nutella cake and lemon poppyseed caught our eyes. We ordered the cakes to-go and brought them home to celebrate. Our friend couldn't put down his fork! The Nutella cake was moist, rich in flavor, and the frosting was really tasty - I just wished the Nutella flavor came through a little bit more punchy. The lemon poppyseed was good, though not as moist, though the frosting was so delicious. We look forward to trying Empire Cafe again soon!

Came here for lunch. There is a parking lot behind the cafe. It is counter service and they have plenty of tables. The menu is quite extensive. I got the not so chicken and waffles. It was super tasty and the egg was cooked perfectly. The vibes are super cozy and have a great patio.
